Igli Hasani, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, attends the 2025 General Assembly of “Confindustria Albania”

March 27, 2025 – The Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, attended the 2025 General Assembly of Confindustria Albania, which held an event on “Competitiveness and the Future: Companies, Territory, Confindustrial Community”. Minister Hasani emphasized that since its inception, Confindustria Albania has been a key partner in promoting relations between Albania and Italy, supporting economic cooperation between the two countries.

“For us, this cooperation is invaluable and we will continue to support it with great enthusiasm. This commitment requires close cooperation with our partners, in which Italy plays an exceptional role. After two decades of intensive relations, Italy remains one of the most important investors in Albania and a strategic ally in Albania’s European Union integration process,” said Minister Hasani.
He further noted: “EU membership is an opportunity to better position ourselves in a global environment and to enhance our economic potential. It is not an opportunity that will come automatically. We need to work closely with the private sector to create an environment conducive to investment and innovation that can transform our economy. The role of the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs (MEFA) is to act as a bridge, promoting exports and attracting strategic investors. To succeed in this fully engaged process, a strong partnership between government and the private sector is essential. Only by working closely with our strategic partners can we maximize the benefits of our EU integration.
Minister Hasani also highlighted one of the Ministry’s key priorities: supporting initiatives that connect local businesses with the Albanian diaspora. “The Albanian diaspora is an extraordinary asset, with the potential to play a key role in Albania’s economic development and international relations. It remains a central focus of our policy. In particular, the large Albanian community in Italy has exceptional potential to contribute to the growth of the Albanian economy.
